Boat Bali to Nusa Penida & Gili – FastBoatHub Official

Feeling overwhelmed by the traffic in Canggu or Seminyak? It’s time for an escape.

Just 30 minutes away from Bali lies Nusa Lembongan, a paradise of crystal-clear water, white cliffs, and zero traffic jams. Unlike its bigger neighbor Nusa Penida (which requires a lot of hiking), Lembongan is flat, relaxing, and perfect for a Day Trip.

You don’t need an expensive tour guide to enjoy this island. With a scooter or a golf cart, you can see it all in 6–8 hours.

Here is the ultimate self-guided itinerary to maximize your day, brought to you by Fastboathub.com.

Step 1: Catch the Morning Boat (Crucial!)

To make a day trip work, you need to leave early. The fast boats depart from the new Sanur Harbor (Matahari Terbit).

We recommend taking the 07:30 AM or 08:30 AM boat. This gives you enough time to explore without rushing.

  • Departure: Sanur Harbor, Bali.
  • Arrival: Mushroom Bay or Jungut Batu, Nusa Lembongan.
  • Duration: 30–40 Minutes.

⚠️ Pro Tip: Morning boats are the busiest. If you show up without a ticket, you might get bumped to the afternoon schedule, ruining your day trip plans.

The Itinerary: 6 Hours of Paradise

09:00 AM – Arrival & Rent Transport Once you step off the boat onto the white sand, rent a scooter (approx. IDR 75k – 100k) or a Golf Cart/Buggy (approx. IDR 800k – 1 million) if you are traveling with family.

10:00 AM – Mangrove Forest Tour Head to the north tip of the island. Hire a small local boat to paddle you through the silent, magical Mangrove forest. It is peaceful and cooling—a perfect start to the day.

12:00 PM – Lunch with a View Drive south towards the “The Deck” area or Sandy Bay. There are plenty of beach clubs offering fresh seafood and ice-cold coconuts overlooking the turquoise ocean.

13:30 PM – Dream Beach & Devil’s Tear This is the highlight.

  • Dream Beach: A stunning secluded bay with powder-white sand.
  • Devil’s Tear: Just next door, witness the raw power of the ocean crashing against the cliffs. You might even see a rainbow in the sea spray!

15:00 PM – The Yellow Bridge Cross the iconic Yellow Bridge to Nusa Ceningan. You don’t need to go far; just crossing it for a photo is a bucket-list moment. The water underneath is so clear you can see the coral from the bridge.

Step 2: The Return Trip (Don’t Miss the Boat!)

After a day of sun and sea, it’s time to head back to Bali. The last fast boats usually depart Lembongan between 16:00 PM and 17:00 PM.

Warning: If you miss the last boat, you will have to stay overnight (which isn’t bad, but inconvenient if your luggage is in Bali!).

We strongly recommend booking a Return Ticket (Round Trip) via Fastboathub. Not only is it cheaper, but it also guarantees your seat on the last boat back.

FAQ: Day Trip Logistics

1. Can I bring luggage? If you are just doing a day trip, leave your big luggage at your hotel in Bali. Just bring a backpack with swimwear, sunscreen, and a camera. If you must bring luggage, the boat staff will handle it for free.

2. Is it safe for kids? Yes! Nusa Lembongan is much safer and more “laid back” than Nusa Penida. The roads are paved (mostly), and golf carts are a fun way for families to get around.

3. Which harbor should I choose? For this itinerary, Mushroom Bay is slightly more central to Dream Beach and Devil’s Tear, but Jungut Batu is closer to the Mangrove. Both are fine; the island is small enough to drive across in 15 minutes.
